NFL on Fox

This was one crazy shot. It was called "Dogpile" from the NFL series that we did at Vinton studios (now Laika) in the 90's. I had all these characters hanging from fishing line all ready to pile onto each other. That character at the top is Ally mcBeal and after they're all piled up, she jumps up and down on top of John Madden and everybody under him. These were all foam latex characters including the hair which has always been a hard thing to animate. Ally's hair had flat copper sheeting inside it. We went back and forth with the design of this and after it was all said and done you don't even want to know what the production cost was.

Pink Carnations (8" X 10" Oil on board)

Made a trip to the art store today and picked up supplies. Painting is not sculpture but with both the right tools are essential. With sculpture I can design and make tools superior to any available in the art stores but with my painting I have to try everything available and then pick that which works best.
Oil on prepared board 8 X 10.

Clay character study

Sorry for not posting something related to animation in such a long time. Here's a sculpt that was done a couple of years ago. It's a character that I can call my own since it was never used at the animation studio and was done in my spare time in the traditional claymation style. Maybe he'll be used in a film some day who knows.
